Berlin
Schonefeld Airport is situated on the south eastern outskirts
of the city of Berlin and is about 12 miles from the city
centre. The airport is near the town of Schonefeld and
road communications are excellent with A 113 Autobahn
connecting the airport with Berlin and the surrounding
motorway network. Schonefeld handles over 6.5 million
passengers each year making it Germany's eighth busiest
airport. Berlin's other main airport, Tegel handles almost
double that number. However Schonefeld is soon to become
the site of the new Berlin - Brandenburg International
Airport which will cater for all Berlin's airport needs,
leaving Tegel redundant.
The Hertz desk at Schonefeld airport is located in the
Car Hire Centre which is conveniently situated in the
pavilion immediately in front of the main terminal at
the southern end of the car parking area. The Hertz fleet
at the airport provides vehicles to meet all travellers'
requirements. Vehicles on offer include convertibles,
family hatchbacks, people-carriers, 4 x 4 s and luxury
BMWs and Mercedes. All vehicles can be reserved in advance
enabling Hertz customers to reserve their transport of
choice and at the same time receive a discount for online
booking. |
